Movie #2050 "Boyfriends of Christmas Past" (Hallmark) - Being a Dickens' fan, I thought I would see how the switch here would work --- the idea of the boyfriends coming back into her dreams and haunting her was the one selling feature of this particular film --- that, and her best friend (whom she ends up with -- sorry, but you would have guessed it just from seeing the way he moons over her in the first minute of the film) -- he's sooooo nice and she's so flighty, too busy for him, narcissistic, and silly not to see he's the one. She's the problem in the film --- her character and her overacting. Her dad, the dad from "Kim's Convenience," was another reason I tuned in , and he had several good scenes giving dad advice (without the accent he uses in the aforementioned t.v. show) --- that was interesting, because his advice was about the second time around love, which isn't covered a lot in these films. Anyway, as I said, the boyfriends coming back (one at a time, there are 4) was a good gimmick, but the stage business through the film was kind of boring --- she was trying to win an account (ho-hum) and he was always asking her to come to this and that at Christmas for his charity work -- I just wasn't sure, by the end, she was worthy of the guy --- he seemed oh so nice, and her --- even after going through the dreams and learning lessons? Her, not so much. I'd give it a 3.
