Movie #2047 ........................."The Big Leap" (Season 1 - hulu, Xfinity on demand, Fox)

Movie #2047 "The Big Leap" - This is a show, with 10 episodes, 40+ minutes each, that we really enjoyed watching.  It is about dance, so it was on my radar anyway, but when OHS theatre alum Sharon Frye said she was doing sound for it,  and that she  was actually on screen in episodes 2, 7 and 10, we knew we had to watch it ---- and we are glad we did.  While watching episodes 7, looking for Sharon,  we were surprised who should pop up at Reggie's (the football player's) doctor but another ohs theatre alum Adam Poss!  So if you are watching this show, look for these alums, and hopefully you will  also delight in the humor of the show and the idea that  it makes fun of reality shows, BUT within the humor, the shows says a lot about how hard it is to dance, how hard it is to sustain working relationships, trust, how much media has taken over everything, dealing with cancer, grief, the sports world, reality shows, the sheer joy of dance, etc. Each show is full of  fast-paced dialogue  and cameras following people around interspersed with a lot of dance numbers --- and not shiny and new ones like in DWTS, but earthy, sometimes hip hop, sometimes ballet, with dancers not necessarily professional but very talented and passionate.  We give it 4.8 out of 5 --- it hits  a lot more than it misses.
