Movie #2039 "Dickens of a Holiday" Hallmark ---Finally, a 5 out of 5! Of course, it would be about Dickens and theatre, right? I enjoyed the humor, esp. the male lead (he is one of my favorites, so I try to watch all of his films) The woman is an actor (wanna be broadway, but never made it there) who comes back to her hometown of Dickens to direct their traditional (and much loved and respected) "A Christmas Carol" --- but wouldn't you know it, the lead comes down with laryngitis, and she all of a sudden needs a guy to play the lead (and of course, some bigwigs are coming to see her work so it better be good) --- voila, a big Dwayne Johnson kind of actor of action films, who attended the same school and did theatre with the woman director , wants to prove he can do something else so he volunteers for the role --- I don't want to say any more, but it ends up to be quite good, and a lot is said about theatre, acting, dickens, listening to other people, etc. I give it a 5 out of 5.
