Movie #2033 ........................."Making Spirits Bright" (Hallmark)

Movie #2033 "Making Spirits Bright" (Hallmark) I wasn't going to watch this one because I thought it was just another contest between two warring families, but I was wrong.  Yes, the girl from one family  is clearly in love with the guy in the other --- they go way back, grew up together, so they have been friends already ---- and their dads were, too; in fact, they were partners in a decorating organization called "making spirits bright" until one of the fathers seemed to be in it more for money than the other --- that broke them up.  Now they are in competition for top honors in their home town for Christmas --- when it is clear that BOTH of them won't make the finals, through some urging on their kids' part, they decide to combine forces to beat the techno geek they are competing with --- the techno geek just does lights, loud music and rocks the lights to the beat --- a cookie cutter approach vs. what they want to do, putting  more thought and effort into it --- and they do, and you can guess the ending, but the story along the way was interesting, so I'd give this a 4 --- I like the idea of two warring groups coming together and finding common ground --- I wish this was mandatory to see for all the people in Congress.

"MAKING SPIRITS BRIGHT" (HALLMARK)     1 hour and 24 mins                  2021    TV-G
