Movie #1471 "Stronger" - had to see this one, since Jake G. is a possible oscar contender, again, and probably will be passed up, again...... He is fantastic in this one --- he cops a different attitude from his other portrayals (he's a drunken loser here) and uses a thick Boston accent. He really puts himself in the place of this guy who tries to show his girlfriend he CAN show up once in a while, and where did he show up? at the finishing line for the Boston Marathon, where he loses both his legs to the bomb blast. His girlfriend that he broke up with feels to blame so she comes around to help him, and then falls back in love with him as he mends ---- but he gets more depressed daily --- PTSD -- when she leaves him to fend for himself one day, he starts to get better and better and stronger....the film is not about the marathon but just one story as a result of it. just one story, but what a story. This is very good --- a tough watch, but the acting and chemistry of the three leads is good to watch. I'd give this 4 out of 5 stars.
