Movie #1467 ........................."Baby Driver"

Movie #1467 "Baby Driver" was a wonderful surprise!  I had heard it was good, but I didn't know what a sense of humor and sense of style it had!  Right from the get-go the music and Baby set the pace for the film, and they carry it throughout.  His job is much like Ryan Gosling's was in "Drive," but that's where the similarities end.  We meet the robbers in the first group, see the first robbery, get a quick intro to Baby and his rommate/foster father and meet the bad guy (played by Kevin Spacey, will it be the last film we actually "see" him in?) all in a matter of about 20 minutes.  This film does not waste time --- and the action scenes ---- wow!  This is normally not my type of movie, but the film is so different from start to finish, and it takes chances, that it won me over.  Then Lily James enters, and she becomes the heart of Baby and the film.  Make no mistake --- this film is way too violent for my money.  And if you have read any of my blogs on films I see, I usually abhor all the violence, but this film deserves a second look because of its style.  I give it 4 stars out of 5, and I think it might have a chance for an Oscar nod or two, maybe?

"BABY DRIVER"     2017      R rated     1 hour and 53 minutes
