Movie #2085 ........................."Box Ballet" (movie theater - oscar animated shorts 2022)

Movie #2085 "Box Ballet (movie theater - oscar-animated shorts 2022 )  I really liked this one the best because it took some risks (no dialogue) and used juxtaposition to make the audience constantly think, and it seemed very universal --- strong themes.  However......the ending left me wondering what it meant --- It was unclear and so the theme depends a lot on that last visual comment.  The film is about a relationship that develops between a lonely boxer and a lonely ballerina --- both are victimized by their jobs and come together at the end ----but they still don't seem to be happy --- they remain fragile in their separate and together worlds.  I'd give it a 3 --- rough animation that seems to go with the rough boxing world.

"BOXBALLET"     15 minutes   Russia     2021

One day, a delicate ballerina named Olya meets the rough, surly boxer evgeny.  The contrast between their worlds and their philosophies is so sharp that even the possibility of these two characters crossing paths seems incredible.
