Movie #2111 "The Worst Person in the World" (Apple - rented) This film reminded me so much of a Woody Allen film in the dialogue, the way the actors interrupt each other and talk over each other, the shots of the landscape and environment, the improvised feeling of it, and the subject matter. Really, if it had better music in the background, and a bit more polish in some scenes, it could have been an Allen film. That being said, it appeared honest in so many scenes --- cancer, relationships, feminism, self-love, sex, It's a journey for one woman who doesn't think very highly of herself (thus, the title) and who is wondering what should she be doing in the future? What is real love? So many of life's questions are facing her. I wanted a bit more in the ending, but it did come to a nice ending that matched the rest of the movie. World problems aren't being solved here, but it was a nice indie film and a good choice to be nominated for foreign films --- not the worst at all --- one of the top ones, to me. I thought it had a good shot --- I'd give it a 4.
