Movie #1271 "A Christmas Wish" was a Hallmark movie on t.v. last night and I tuned into it because it sounded a bit different from the others --- a mother of three is left pretty much homesless by her husband , and she moves to a town that helps her out --- and this all plays out at Christmas time. bummer!.. The kids are facing their own problems at their school, and they are trying to deal with the abandonment and mom's money problems as best as they can. It's a George Bailey story but without George........this lead female was very cold, and yes, she had to go through a lot of emotional stuff trying to keep her head above water while dealing with the kids and working a couple of jobs and dealing with a broken down car, and etc..... but she just was really cold, so although I understood her plight, I didn't feel for her. The plot seemed pushed at us, like let's make a list of everything that can happen to this family and see what will happen --- I give it 2.8 stars out of 5 because the kids and the guy love interest were moderately intriguing.
"A CHRISTMAS WISH" 2011 1 hour and 37 mins 2.8 stars out of 5
MARTHA EVANS has been abandoned by her ne'er-do-well husband, who took all their cash and left her homeless and virtually destitute with her two daughters and stepson. Martha leaves town in hopes of finding a job and a place to stay, she finally finds a job at a sleepy rural diner, formerly famous for its home-made root beer. But with her car broken down and the bills piling up, it looks like it's going to be a bleak Christmas for the Evans family. However, there are warm hearts working behind the scenes that ultimately make this the happiest holiday of Martha's life -- a real answer to her prayers..
