Movie #1263 ........................."Hearts of Christmas"

Movie #1263 "Hearts of Christmas" -- I started watching this for a couple of reasons ....1) I like the guy in it (I've seen him in other movies, like at festivals) and the girl in the first couple of minutes was using her face so well, I decided to watch at least two talented people at work, and 2)  the story seemed different than the other Hallmark offerings ---- this was set in a hospital, natal unit, and then it dealt with a real problem of hospital cuts, etc.  And I was right.  It was a good watch --- very positive message, good highpoint and ending, well acted, for the most part (Hooray for Sharon Lawrence -- she is always fun to watch, and she had the big heavy scene toward the end.  Yep, some of it seem manufactured, but there was nice chemistry between the two leads, even though they were asked to be in conflict (according to the script) most of the time --- he was the one to cut the budge, she was the one trying to save someone from that.  I would give it 4 stars out of 5.  And I would recommend it for the christmas season.  I liked how they showed what it was like in one of these units that I read about in Jodi Piccoult's new book "Small Great Things."

It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it: this is CFO Matt Crawford's reasoning as he announces the forced retirement of a beloved nurse at Community Hospital. A young colleague, however, hopes the spirit of Christmas may spark a change of heart.
