Movie#3152 ........................."A Merry Scottish Christmas" (Hallmark)

Movie #152 "A Merry Scottish Christmas" (Hallmark)  Look who gets to film in Scotland for this Christmas movie?  None other than Lacey Chabert, and a resurgence of her relationship with her brother, played by Scott Wolf.  All for naught, in my opinion, because this was not that good of a film to me.  I loved the scenery, and I loved getting to know some of the Scottish traditions, etc.  but the story was boring.   It never drew me in emotionally.  The film  shows a growth in a relationship between brother and sister, and mother and kids, and mother and her brother, and Lacey and the guy who helps run the place.  You'd think with all that going on it would be more entertaining, but it really wasn't.  The only part I liked is when the boyfriend of Lacey introduces his brother, who happens to be an actor who has played in several movies with Lacey already.  And there's an insider joke when she asks," Haven't I met you before?"  and he says no, but the actor has played in her boyfriend in the Bruges film, and the one she learns to ballroom dance in.  Anyway, the ending just came up all of a sudden and it seemed stuck on.  So I wouldn't recommend this film, unless you want to see Scotland beautifully presented.  I'd give it a 3 out of 5.
