Movie #115 "Numb" is a very different love story, and I kind of liked it. Now, I must say it is very low key and a bit of a downer, because of the story line --- it's about someone suffering from depersonalization who tries to find a cure ---- with various doctors, various pills, various exercises --- he tries everything, and he still comes out the same ---- depressed and detached from life. The humor is low key and quirky, too, esp. the section with Mary Steenburgen (the psychiatrist crazier than her patient) , but I learned quite a lot about the syndrome, and it made me more empathetic to people who have conditions that they suffer through the cures for. Not for everyone, but it's likeable, like Matthew Perry.

Numb
(2007) R
Film and TV star Matthew Perry brings his trademark satirical gifts to this romantic comedy, also starring Oscar winner Mary Steenburgen and comedian Kevin Pollak. Obsessive loner Hudson Milbank (Perry) is an emotionally deadened screenwriter who seeks salvation from his libidinous psychiatrist (Steenburgen) -- until he meets Sara (Lynn Collins), who just might be the only one who can save him from himself.
