Movie #3406 "I'm Not A Robot" (theatre) This is a third oscar-nominated live action short for 2025, and it has some humor in it (unlike the others). The film pulled me in from the get go -- it started with a woman working in an office trying to get into some website and she has to do one of those captcha things to prove she isn't a robot --- I can feel her frustration when she is unable to pick the ones they want us to pick (annoying, right?) She begins to wonder if she is a robot --- it's a humorous idea, but then take on the major thrust of the rest of the film --- If you see the ending, you know that if I say this film ends up in the air, that would be quite ironic --- but I wanted to know more about this ending, too..... It seems to be a good film fest film because this one you could really interpret it in various ways about how AI is giving us some form of paranoia --- that we are left out, that our work places are dehumanizing us, that people around us become colder (esp if colleagues are AI) and give us the feeling we don't fit in..... if you see the one and want to talk about it, contact me --- I would be anxious to know how you interpret the ending. I would give this a 4 because filmically, it gets across the push to dehumanize our lives, esp. in the work place.
