Movie #1578 ........................."Beautiful Boy"

Movie #1578 "Beautiful Boy" --- and here's another movie as many people as possible should see because we don't seem to have a handle on the problem explored in this film.  (I said the same for "the Hate U Give" )  The problem is crystal meth addiction and the hold it gets on the user that is ever so difficult (more times than not , impossible) to shake.  And what this does to the parents and the rest of the family.  I can't say enough about the strength of acting in this film --- Timothee Chalamet is a wonder, and (is it too early?) a possible academy award nominee again, for the second year in a row.  What a part for him and what he does with it --- the whole gamut!  And Steve Carell is so universal as the father trying to deal with a kid he adores!  The movie is a very difficult film to watch, so I realize it isn't for everyone, but if you want some eyeopening scenes played out in front of you on the ever invasive and troubling drug problem in our families, you'll want to see it.   The Biggest question is searches an answer for is:  as a parent, how do you deal with such a problem?  It is such a heartbreaking but inspiring film, based on two books written by father and son , Dave and Nic Sheff that you'll want to  put this on the list to see!  4.5 stars out of 5.

"BEAUTIFUL BOY"   2018    I would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Based on the best-selling pair of memoirs from father and son David and Nic Sheff, Beautiful Boy chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival, relapse, and recovery in a family coping with addiction over many years
