Movie #3214 "Nai Nai and Tai Po' (Doc Short, oscar-nominated, in theatre) It is tough to take notes IN the theater, and the only thing I wrote down for this one was "adorable". It is about two mothers-in-law who live together in their waning years -- a mother of the husband, and mother of the wife. The short film shows how well they get along -- kind of ying/yang, and the they do on a daily basis, which includes: cooking together, dancing, arm wrestling (hysterical), visiting and just sitting and enjoying each other's company --- one is 83 and the other is 94, so I guess there is a little caretaking of the younger to the older, but it seems to work well for both of them. I'd give this a 5 out of 5, but I don't think with the heavier subjects that it is a shoo-in to win the award. But it's a great idea and well shown.
