Movie #1082 ........................."Sleepwalk with Me"

Sleepwalk With Me

2012  Rated PG-1390 mins ---- I'd give this 4 stars out of 5
Movie #1082 "Sleepwalk with Me" is a tough movie to watch --- it's full of pauses, awkward moments, awkward glances, people not saying what they really feel to each other.  Mike plays kind of a schmoo who lumbers to the stage when called upon to do his comic routine, which doesn't run long at time --- about 5 minutes to be exact.  This film shows growth in his comic ability but more importantly his social behavior.  One of the last lines in the film, the true theme of the movie, deals with people who stay together so they won't get the other person mad ----- if that doesn't hit the truth nail, what does?  The film tells a lot about relationships and how a problem like sleepwalking affects those relationships and a multitude of other things.  It's about people in a rut and not knowing how to get out of it!  I recommend it for people who don't mind that there aren't a lot of action scenes, just a lot of talking and awkwardness but by the end of the film, some things have worked themselves out; others have not.  This should be the companion piece of "Welcome to Me" --- that girl in there should find the guy in here and it would be a relationship made in heaven!

In this autobiographical tale based on director Mike Birbiglia's successful one-man show, an up-and-coming stand-up comedian deals with career and relationship issues while trying to ignore his outrageous sleepwalking habit
