Movie #2038 ........................."The Christmas House" (Hallmark)

Movie #2038 "The Christmas House" (Hallmark) There are three stories here --- the likable son who is an actor of a show that might have been cancelled, and the other son who is in  a gay marriage and they are waiting  to find out if their adoption is going through, and the father and mother who are at a crossroads in their relationship when the woman, a former teacher, has just retired (and he has done it before  her and has  a  "retirement" life that she is afraid she won't fit in).  I could identify with the mother and father, and I enjoyed the other two  stories, too;.  Of course, there is a love story and not with another actress,  but with the neighbor next door that the actor grew up with.  She has the lowest sounding voice of anybody in the film, and a welcomed change from other women portrayed in Hallmark films a lot.  She, of course, has a little boy who is not the cutesie kind of kid that is usually  also found in Hallmark movies.  I liked how this film tried to do some other different stuff here, and I'd give it a 3.8 --- likable film, but geez, it got boring watching them straighten pieces of garland through a lot  of the film!
