Movie #845 "Computer Chess" was the first for me to watch for the Spirit Award nominations --- this one was nominated for Best Editing/Best Cinematography ---- it was billed a comedy. We saw nothing worth recommending it from that list === must admit, only made it through about 20 minutes, but it was way too slow, too plodding, and didn't see the "best editing and cinematography" --- perhaps it came later, but I wasn't going to wait for it. Not worth it. I don't know how to play chess well enough to follow this, either. So not recommending it. Now on to the next nominee.
Computer Chess2013NR91 minutes ----- I gave this 1 star out of 5.
This comedic period piece set before PCs became commonplace centers on a 1980s chess tournament in which human competitors get their first crack at testing their skills against a machine.
