Movie #841 "The Resident" is a been there, done that kind of film ----i.e. girl living alone gets a cheap apartment and doesn't know why --- until she realizes (way at the end of the film, after EVERYONE HAS KNOWN THROUGH THE WHOLE FILM) that her good looking landlord has been doing the Norman Bates' thing ---- looking through every available orifice to watch her dress, etc. He goes even further and drugs her and does creepy disgusting things I don't even want to go into. Who hasn't seen a film where the ending becomes like all others..........with the frail female running through the building with this icky guy chasing her --- however, in this one, Hilary Swank is a good enough actress to make the chase believable! Not only that, but she's strong and has a nail gun with her, to boot. I don't recommend it, but it is a step better than all the others like it because Hilary Swank is a tremendous actor. Best scene here? When she discovers what this awful man has been doing the whole time!
The Resident2011R91 minutes I give it 2.8 stars out of 5
