Movie #1412 "Blade Runner 2049" - mixed feelings about this one. Heavy duty sci fi with a worthwhile theme (how can we be human in such a technological world?) but very very very s-l-o-w in pacing. I didn't mind it too much because I enjoy watching Ryan Gosling walking around such beautiful sets, but I can see how some people would mind. I always think he is a cerebral actor who makes me constantly wonder what he is thinking --- therefore, he comes across as more of a complex character in comparison to some of his contemporaries..... But then, again, I have always found him fascinating since I saw him way back in "Lars and the real girl." Story here is a bit thin, and parts of it you can guess before they happen (well, like I said, you have a lot of time!) But all of this pales to how sumptuous the set is in this film ---- wow! The sets/environment are very rich and complex. So if you want to see a movie that has great sets, a slow story, but continues the saga that blade runner #1 started, this is a movie you need to see. And then there's the Ryan Gosling factor......

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
