Movie #1292 ........................."Barry"

Movie #1292 "Barry" --- I watched this the other night after I sat through and enjoyed the entire farewell address that President Obama made in Chicago.  This movie is about his early years in college --- the people he met, 4 in particular, and a girl that makes him politically more conscientious.  The guy playing him was very good, but the story didn't seem to go anywhere and the film was really slow.  Overall, it was kind of a soft-ball approach to our president's college story --- as if, it was afraid to offend? or take a stand?  I was left a bit confused as to how I was to feel about the early years of Barak Obama.  I saw that he was very very observant --- he was no nonsense ---- he was a smoker ---- curious ---- charming.....I know all of these traits, but I guess I was looking for more surprises.  Didn't see much, so I don't recommend the film.  There isn't much here.  2.8 stars out of 5.
P.s.  I was interested in one aspect of the film, and forgot to say that --- his racial identity, commented on below.   Since President Obama didn't refer to it very much, I was interested to know how he felt about that at the young age of junior in Columbia University.

"BARRY"   2016    (saw it streamed on netflix)   2016     NR

Set in 1981, this engrossing biopic charts President Barack Obama's transformative experiences during his junior year at Columbia University, where he grapples with his racial identity and undergoes a galvanizing period of adjustment.
