Movie #1113 ........................."North pole: Open for Christmas

Movie #1113 "North Pole:  Open for Christmas" is a typical Hallmark romantic comedy, but with a lot more magical mumbo jumbo than is usually in one of these flicks.  But the actors are able to deal with the flying sleighs, the elves' hocus pocus, etc.  What is lacking here is any dramatic tension --- where's the conflict?  We see very little --- Lori Laughlin (from "Full House") is supposed to "save" the hotel, but we never see them for lack of money --- and most of the things are fixed due to some magic rather than the handy handyman Dermot Mulroney.  This has the same elf as the other Northpole movie, and she is just as giddy as in the other film --- saw no difference in there, so perhaps that's on purpose and some overt  connection to the other film. You mean there could be a whole set of these?  I think I'll stop there.  That's enough "north pole" films for me.  I would give it 3 stars out of 5.

Plot Summary for "North Pole:  Open for Christmas"  2015

A successful businesswoman, Mackenzie, inherits her beloved aunt's inn, and chooses to restore the hotel to its original grandeur only to sell it right before Christmas. Unbeknownst to Mackenzie, she receives some unexpected help from a team of elves headed by the cheerful Clementine, who helps Mackenzie rediscover the true meaning of Christmas.
