Movie #2161 ........................."The Bad Seed" (2018) - Lifetime

Movie #2161 "The Bad Seed" (Lifetime)  --- oh my.  I am not a horror picture enthusiast by any means, but I always had an interest in the whole bad seed idea from the original "Bad Seed " movie with Patty McCormick.  The idea addressed  in that film was that once in a while the psychotic tendency can be inherited -- well, at least in Rhoda's case.      There are huge differences, though, between  this new show  and the old one --- but one huge similarity --- that of Patty of McCormick, who plays  the little girl  Rhoda in the original,  and now plays  the therapist for the little girl in the modern one  (this version her name is Emma - too nice of a name in my opinion) .  That was a nice touch --- too bad,the good parts stopped there.  This  actress  McKenna Grace is AMAZING as Emma --- she is sooooo much more believable than Rhoda from the earlier film --- but come on!  After a couple of accidental deaths, someone has to catch on.  The story is ridiculous --- but this is me writing it after I have just watched "The Bad Seed Returns" --- To me, believability could be stretched through one long picture with poetic justice occurring at the end of the first  1950s film --- that end is one of the best in film history, and I won't divulge it here, but you'd think if you picked up this project, with this great little girl acting rings around everyone else that you could come up with a fitting poetic justice ending and have it occur in a reasonable amount of time !!!!..............well, maybe it will occur in the next version?  But me?  if a third one comes out, I am going to just fly fast through to the end to see what they come up with --- the rest of the stuff in between is just horror with little thought --- but then again, I am NOT a horror fan. I give this a 3 --- I hope to see McKenna in more good stuff in the future (see "Gifted" for an intro to her abilities)
