Movie #2152 "Mrs. Pollifax -- Spy" (Amazon Prime) Our book club read this book and really enjoyed it, so I thought I'd hunt up the movie made from the book. This one, the oldest with Rosalind Russell, is available free on Amazon Prime, and it was cute. It followed the book quite a bit except for where it started and how she got into the spy business in the first place ---funnier in the book. But once the story starts taking off, it's jam- packed action with Mrs. P (following the book) , who is played by the wonderful actress (Rosalind Russell) with tons of nuances added to the character. The young spy she works with is played by Darrin McGavin, and he's very funny and laid back, playing the guy, in my opinion, perfectly from the book. The extra prisoner who helped them in the book never shows up in this film ; otherwise, the plot is pretty much the same. I'd give it a 3 and rate it a fun watch, esp. if you have read the book (which is better than a three!)
