Movie #1787 ........................."Christmas Melody"

Movie #1787 "Christmas Melody" --- this one really interested me, even though Mariah Carey has speaking lines in it and they were done badly (however, I think she was playing her pompous self).   However, hats off to an okay directing job for her.  I  usually like Lacey movies and this one has escaped me until now, so I was glad I got to watch it. The daughter, who is feeling depressed for being yanked out of her home in a different city, is dragged to Lacey's home town where she feels she needs to go to start over again.  The music teacher is a nice guy who offers to help the daughter get into the musical variety show, even though tryouts have occurred already.    I recommend it unless you dislike watching kids singing, because there's fun with kids  putting on a show.  I give it 4.5.  P.S.  Kathy Nagimy adds spice to a couple of scenes because she plays the aunt.
