Movie #1783 "Matchmaker Santa" -- I usually don't like the Hallmark christmas movies that have any santa/elf stuff or any "Magical" santa clauses, but since this actress is one of my favorite in this set of films, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and starting watching it. Although the story line is almost completely manipulated by that Santa Claus, and wiggling his nose (Yikes!), I thought it was okay because the two lead actors were good enough to still make me believe that the actions were based in reality. And overall, it was believable, that their relationship would build in the amount of time they stayed in that one christmasy town --- and the secondary characters were a hoot, including Florence Henderson and John Ratzenberger. They also had this other couple being manipulated to build their relationship, too. The one odd part of this all? The big reveal at the end seemed anticlimactic because by that time the couples had made up their minds, so there was a quick handshake among the four and the movie ended ---- odd and could have been better, but still I'd give this a 4 and recommend it. It was "cute" ---- Chabert has a handle on the "cute" in these films.
"MATCHMAKER SANTA" 2012 1 hour and 15 mins.
As a little girl, Melanie Hogan (Lacey Chabert) wished to find her own Prince Charming, just like her parents found true love. Now an adult, Melanie is running her own bakery and dating a handsome CEO, Justin (Thad Luckinbill). Although things seem perfect when Justin asks Melanie to spend the holidays together at his beautiful lake house upstate, and meet his mother, Melanie finds herself spending more time with Justin's best friend and loyal assistant, Dean (Adam Mayfield), who just might be harboring a secret crush on her. When complications arise that throw Melanie and Dean together over the holiday, will the two realize they're meant to be?
