Movie #1404 .........................."Mountain Between Us"

Movie #1404 "The Mountain Between Us"  --- I read this book and really enjoyed it, and I would like to say just one word in this review --- No.  But I guess I should explain..... No, it is not a good interpretation of this book.  No, it isn't worthy of any awards or praises, even if two of the finest actors (Idris Alba and Kate Winslet) are in it.  No, you don't need to see this.  The one positive I can say is that the environment (filmed in British Columbia) is simply breathtaking.  But that's it.  There is a mystery throughout the book that makes it stand on its own, out of your typical survivor type stories, and this movie missed the boat entirely.  I guess when they all sat around the table, they decided that the major thing they wanted to show was two people both contributing equally to their survival.  The book had her much more in pain and damaged so that she couldn't do equal physical stuff to save them, but she had the sense of humor, the wherewithal to keep them going mentally.  There is so much more I would point out, but there's a good chance you didn't read the book, so why bother.   If you read it, maybe message me and we can go into more detail, but I'll just leave it as....not recommended by me.  I'd give it a very weak 3 out of 5 stars (and the boost from a 2 is because of the acting and the beautiful landscape.  And the dog.
