Movie "Notes on Autumn" (Hallmark) Two stories are going on here, much like the popular xmas film "Holiday," where two women switch houses and each finds meaning and love in the new surroundings. Voila! Same idea here, except it is two best friends - one a woman, the other a man. So we have not only a guy/girl relationship, but a guy/guy one, too. This is an important change for Hallmark movies, and I welcome it. (there are a few actors/actresses that don't welcome the changes being made so they have jumped ship so goodbye to them, and hello to freedom --- freedom to write even more romantic/comedies and inspirational films for the Hallmark channel that more people in this world can relate to. This film used a split screen for that first kiss, obviously suggesting the similarities (equality) we all have in that special moment in a relationship and lots of humor to move the stories along. The stage business deals with music and writer's block, both subjects interesting to me. The conflicts are relatable and believable, and the ending was fine. I'd give it a 4.5 and encourage you to watch this step into the future for Hallmark. It has been long coming.
