Movie #1241 ........................."A Christmas Melody"

Movie #1241 "A Christmas Melody" was a mediocre film with not much plot, but the daughter stole the film for me.  She's so bouncey and kind and very talented --- Mom makes her move to another place, her original home, to start over since her business has closed, and it works out for mother and daughter, until the mother's best friend comes to the place and offers her a great job, back where she started.  Who can't guess what she'll choose?  esp. since she has fallen in love with her daughter's music teacher and made nice nice to her rival parent at the school (Mariah Carey in an awful acting cameo).  You can skip this one.  3 stars out of 5.

"A Christmas Melody" revolves around Kristin (Lacey Chabert), a beautiful, stylish divorcee who is a talented clothing designer and her young daughter. Kristin has just had to close her small Manhattan boutique to return to her Ohio home town and live in her parents' former home. It's an adjustment for Kristin and Emily -- especially when she runs into her former high school rival Melissa (Mariah Carey). Melissa is president of the PTA and tries to make Kristen feel as unwelcome as possible. Kristen and Emily struggle to find their new normal with the help of the music teacher Danny (Brennan Elliott) and Kristin's Aunt Sarah (Kathy Najimy), the local coffee shop owner.
