Movie #264 ........................."First Do No Harm"

Movie #264 "First Do No Harm" was a made for t.v. movie that I have wanted to see for a long time. First, because it had Meryl Streep, and for her to do a t.v. film, she must have believed in it a lot, and second because of the subject matter, epilepsy. I didn't know much about the subject, but boy is this enlightening --- it not only deals with the disease, but more importantly how doctors have difficulty treating it, how parents have to fight for their rights and the rights of their child, how a family can quickly disintegrate without health insurance, etc. It's all handled here and it was intriguing to watch. But it is made for t.v. so it's a bit on the melodramatic side. But because it was well acted, I hardly noticed.

I gave it 3.6
