Movie #3382 "Real Pain" (Hulu) Since Culkin took the Golden Globe for supporting actor for this film, I thought I would take a look see, even though it sounded like one of those buddy films --- cousins go on trip to Poland to find their grandmother's house, a tribute trip to her since she died recently. The cousins seem like oil and water (not too original also) --- so I was right, it is a buddy roadtrip film, but there are a few differences , one being it retraces steps through history of the Holocaust, so we see the remnants of a concentric camp, and various other places. I also enjoyed the short time we were with the quirky colleagues on the trip -- but they weren't used as much as they could have been. And the film is all over the place --- sometimes having very little motivation shown as it goes from one place to another. The emotion and heart of the film was lost to me --- maybe it was just me, but just not enough there to pull me in. I'd give it a 3.8, and like I said, the best part of the film was the places it went to in Poland.
P.S. I was also left with the question: Why did he win the Golden Globe? Didn't see that great of an acting stint here.
