Movie #2224 "A Hollywood Christmas" (HBO) I loved this film for one main reason --- it makes fun of the Hallmark formula film, but then while doing that it follows a formula to make a fun Christmas movie --- it is self-deprecatory from beginning to end --- there's a funny sidekick that knows she is playing that part and she keeps pointing out how what is happening while making this Christmas movie is also a Christmas movie in itself. For example, one time when the director is upset with one of her actors and they meet in a makeshift room, she leaves and slams the door and the whole frame falls apart --- she, and we, forgot that they were on a movie set so nothing was really for real --- There's a line in it: "Christmas magic is like snow in L.A." yet the movie spins it's magic by making fun of it --- quite a script here, and funny, esp. if you watch it from a film angle, which is the point of view here --- director's pOV. I'd give this a 4.5 out of 5 and recommend it.
