Movie #943 "Breaking & Entering" --- well, this movie had a very convoluted plot ---- I must admit, it was tough to sit through the set up, I kept falling asleep. But once Juliette Binoche (love her) makes her entrance, I became more interested because this was a different part for her....I didn't believe all the twists and turns in here (really happenstances) and even though I love Vera Farmiga and thought she was a stitch in her bit here, I can't really figure out WHY she was in the movie at all. And Martin Freeman, his best friend, while we are at it. The autistic little girl was really the best part --- I liked watching how Jude Law and his girlfriend the always intense Robin Wright tried to make her life go smoothly. But put all these stories together and it's really a mishmash, from a really good director ("english Patient, the "talented Mr. Ripley", and others. I really don't think there was enough here to sustain your interest, so unless you are fans of these actors, I probably wouldn't bother seeing it. I'm looking at the add: "A sexy, thoughtful smart film" and I really didn't see any of that here. Just a lot of desperation!
Breaking and Entering ----- I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars
Our best guess for you: 3.5 stars
