Movie #938 ........................."The Lunchbox"

Movie #938 "The Lunchbox" is a charming film, like the play "Love Letters" --- i.e. a lot of the story is done through letters ---- in this case the usually precise, competent Lunchbox delivery service in Mumbai makes a mistake (hard to believe) and continues to send this woman's lunch NOT to her husband but to a lonely widower, who writes notes to her and she starts to write back --- The one negative about this film is that it seemed to be too long and drawn out.  So I would say charming on this one, but a tad too long.  Otherwise, very well acted and enjoyable.  It had one or two quirky characters which is always good to have in a film like this, but there could have been more.

The Lunchbox2013PG105 minutes       I give it 3 stars out of 5
When Mumbai's eerily reliable lunchbox delivery service erroneously sends a meal prepared by a young housewife to a lonely widower on the brink of retirement, the mistake ignites an exchange of notes and mutual fantasy between them.
