Movie #672 ........................."Reservation Road"
Movie #672 "Reservation Road" -- what a wonderful beginning, again, of a movie on Lifetime -- I guess that's their gimmick: hook the viewer in for the first 20 minutes, and all of a sudden I find myself watching a movie at 2 a.m. in the morning so I can see the ending. I always wanted to see this one because I find the three adults (and the Fanning kid) all very capable, and interesting, actors, esp. Mark Ruffalo. I also find the subject matter fascinating --- what would you do if your car accidentally ran over someone --- why would someone run? This film deals with just that. And the grief is overwhelming on Jennifer Connelly and Joaquin Phoenix's side --- tears you apart. The vengeance at the end is tough to watch, but because they are such good actors, they are able to pull it off somewhat. I found it really believable, well, most of it --- so I do somewhat recommend it --- very tense, and very sad.
I give it 3.8 stars out of 5
