Movie #378 ........................"See Here, Private Hargrove"

Movie #378 "See Here, Private Hargrove" is an oldie, with two of my favorite actors, Robert Walker and Donna Reed, although why Donna Reed is in this movie, I have no idea. She isn't really part of the conflict at all. In fact, you'd have to search really hard to find a conflict here --- it seems like a war movie that was selling the army --- the film was really about a friendship that develops between Robert Walker and Keenan Wynn --- it went on way too long (I feel asleep at the very end and had to rewind to watch it again, this time with my eyes opened) and not much here. A bit of a disappointment ---- I guess it was such a hit, though, that Hollywood made two more Private Hargrove movies ----- why? WWII is the answer, I guess. You can skip this one --- 2.5 stars

summary from IMdB
Journalist Marion Hargrove enters the Army intending to supplement his income by writing about his training experiences. He muddles through basic training at Fort Bragg with the self-serving help of a couple of buddies intent on cutting themselves in on that extra income
