Movie #1993 "Enola Holmes" (streaming Amazon Prime) I don't know much about the cast --- the girl is from "Stranger Things" and I realize that (I just don't watch it much -- just a little) but I was totally surprised that Sherlock was played by Superman. Anyway, so the cast didn't bring this to my attention --- it was the idea of the female Sherlock Holmes, and I wasn't disappointed. Making her a young girl/woman makes it even better to me because it is so cool to see her young mind at work --- better than Sherlock in some ways, and I enjoyed that. The production values of this show are amazing --- the editing is impeccable and hurries thew story forward. She breaks the 4th wall occasionally and looks at the audience and asks us questions or makes smarmy comments. And the pacing is great, too. I highly recommend this. It's so fun to watch the female lead learning very quickly from her mother (Helena Bonham Carter) the attitude: You have to make noise if you want to be heard! That seems to be very topical of the times along with"The future is up to us" --- Seems like two important messages for this pre-election time. But even if you watch it afterwards, I think you will like this one a lot!
"ENOLA HOLMES" 2 hrs, 3 mins PG-13 2020
