Movie #502 ........................."Little Manhattan"

Movie #502 "Little Manhattan" was made in 2005, but I missed it the first time around. What a little gem of a film! Thoroughly enjoyable to me, and my 12 year old niece, too! So this is family entertainment! An alum suggested it and I'm glad she did. We were talking about how capable the boy in "The Kids are All right" was --- In fact, I say about that film that the kids were better than all right, they stole the movie for me! Well, the boy was the same as the one in this film and the film "Bridge of Terabithia" and he has been outstanding in all of these movies. In this one, he goes through crying jags, making goofy faces, a lot of narrating his feelings, and all for the love of his life ---- the first love. I have never seen a movie that shows all the facets of first love, so if you are interested, see this gem of a film! And watch it with your kids!

I rated it 4 stars out of 5.
Little Manhattan
(2005) PG
Set against the backdrop of the Big Apple, director Mark Levin's (Wimbledon) quirky tale of first love puts the spotlight on pint-sized passion as young urbanites Gabe (Josh Hutcherson) and Rosemary (Charlie Ray) explore their budding emotions. And there's one thing that makes them perfect for each other: They're both in the fifth grade. Cynthia Nixon and Bradley Whitford co-star in this winning comedy that proves bigger isn't necessarily better.
Genre: Children & Family Movies, Romantic Movies, Family Features, Teen Movies, Family Comedies, Teen Romance
This movie is: Sentimental, Romantic
