Movie #3607 "Shall We Dance" (Amazon Prime) The opening is set pretty quickly but hard to believe that Astaire is a ballet dancer with a strict reputation --- really? He always looks so sweet to me. Anyway, Instead of black face "Bojangles" there is actually a dance to a black chorus rendition of "Slap that Bass" (these are all Gershwin tunes) , and then a cute "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" on roller skates --- Of course, the two big numbers are "They Can't Take That Away from Me" and a huge dance at the end with a chorus of women with masks that are Ginger Rogers' face - symbolically saying that if Fred can't dance with Ginger, then he would make them all look like her...........one observation I made of this movie is that they never kissed --- at least I don't remember seeing it --- and they were ironically, pretending to be married a big portion of the film, and actually married. I'd give this one a 4 --- it's al ways great to see the duo perform with Gershwin tunes.
