Movie #2062 "A Timeless Christmas" (Hallmark) Ironically, time was an important problem with seeing this film --- I had dvr'ed it and it disappeared, and then I had to tape it again, and finally saw it. I didn't think of the trailer that I would like it, but just like a lot of these, I started watching and just got sucked into into the story. I knew it was going to be different because it was about Time Travel, and that isn't used all that much, and esp. back into the turn of the century where costumes and language would be greatly different from the way things are now. So because he time travels, the guy who is usually stiff and pretentious as an actor can be that naturally. And since time is important through the whole film, it is obvious that he is only expected to be softened for a little bit of time in this one --- and he handles it okay. The girl is well done --- she is able to "act" her role in wearing costumes and conducting tours around the rich guy's life, and then she has to try to help him find out why he time traveled and how he can get back in time, and then she has to "act" like she hasn't fallen for him. So she has A LOT more to do that he does, and she does it well. I'd give this a 4 out of 5 for it being ambitious in the storytelling. (and costumes, and makeup, and props)
