Movie #1699 "Stan & Ollie" was a very heartwarming, but very low key kind of film. You would think it would deal with the high point of their film success, but the film deals with the back end, in fact, their last work together. One of them didn't die on stage, mid routine, or anything like that --- they just come to a decision that they will no longer be working together. And their wives are in- cluded in that decision, along with other factors, which you'll need to see the film to find out. But, for sure, these two actors bring Laurel and Hardy to life again, for 1 hour and 37 mins at least! And I so enjoy watching them. It's fun to hear their theme song, to see some of their dance routines, and other routines again. The way the script is written, they sometimes would talk to each other in the style of their routines so it was fun to catch that once in a while, too. BUT it is very low key --- you'd think Ollie is quick to argue, but the more pushy of the two is Stan Laurel, and he does it very nicely, being very much a gentle British gentleman. I'd give the film 3.5 out of 5 --- the back end of the film was better than the opening.
