Movie #1489 ........................."Maudie"

Movie #1489 ---"Maudie"  --- what an intriguing film --- and based on a true story about Maude Lewis, the painter, who is quite physically affected by  rheumatoid arthritis and pretty much written off by her family, but she has the will power to go it on her own and meets up with a reclusive farmer (with anger management problems) --- but they click.  They are both so lonely and they serve each others' need.  To watch Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke flesh out these two lonely outcasts of society is something else, and I recommend it if you are in the mood to see a character-driven film.  But turn the volume up or get subtitles, because Sally talks softly and mumbles occasionally (lacks confidence at first), and Ethan grunts a lot.

"MAUDIE"        2017       PG-13      1 HOUR and 55 mins.

This affecting biopic charts the story of Maud Lewis, who rises above the juvenile rheumatoid arthritis that made her a social outcast and finds a passion for painting, becoming a beloved Canadian folk artist in the process.
