Movie #82 "The Chorus" is a gem of a film with a great, uplifting ending. And it's about so many things, education, being a rebellious adolescent, earning respect, bullying, teaching and learning and that student-teacher relationship that can be so inspiring for BOTH parties. This is most enjoyable and I'm glad I got to see it ---- and it's so short, too, so take 86 minutes of your life some time and sit down ready to experience what a good film is all about.

The Chorus
Les Choristes / Chorists
(2004) PG-13
In this gentle French drama from first-time director Christophe Barratier, music teacher Clement Mathieu (Gerard Jugnot) lands a job at a boys' boarding school populated by delinquents and orphans -- and run by a martinet headmaster (Francois Berleand). Sensing potential in the rambunctious ruffians, Mathieu forms a choir to rein in his charges through the transforming power of song, even at the probable cost of his career.
