Movie #54........................."Flawless" (2007)

Movie #54 "Flawless" (2007) is inferior to the 1999 one with Robert DeNiro, as a homophobic cop recuperating from a stroke with the help of his flamboyantly gay neighbor. This one is a heist film and boy is it slow and tedious and 'terribly British" in its mannerisms and tone. Demi Moore and Michael Caine play it in one note until the last 20 minutes when it comes alive, when you find out just what they did with the diamonds they had taken from a stuff bank. I don't think I'd recommend this to anyone -------there are so many better heist films. This just has a good last 20 minutes. So I recommend the other "Flawless" ---- the better one with Robert DeNiro.

On the eve of his retirement, a disgruntled British janitor (Michael Caine), angry over his company's refusal to pay an insurance claim for his ailing wife, persuades an unhappy American executive (Demi Moore) to join him in a jewel heist. The two subsequently hatch a daring plan to steal the gems from their employer, the London Diamond Corp. Michael Radford directs this crime drama set in 1960s London and loosely based on actual events.
